The Sock Factory

The Sock Factory is a wholly owned and operated Western Australian company that produces an extensive range of high quality socks at very competitive prices.  Our socks are manufactured here onsite in W.A. for use in the corporate sector, for leisure, work and school wear and in a wide range of sporting disciplines.

Mount Brown Lookout

Mount Brown, which is 342m above sea level, is within five minutes of the York town site.  Mount Brown provides a beautiful 360-degree panoramic view of York and its surrounds.

It is also a wonderful setting for a picnic and barbecue. Free gas barbecue, toilet and picnic table area is on the right just before the top of the lookout.

York Town Hall

York's historic Town Hall was built in 1911.

It is well worth a visit to view its jarrah floors, pressed tin ceilings and upstairs dress circle.

The Visitor Centre is also located in the entrance.

Suspension (Swing) Bridge

The first temporary bridge over the Avon, was built by convicts around 1853.  The bridge has been rebuilt from time to time and was finally constructed in 1988. The original swing bridge, built in 1889, at this location, was completely rebuilt to a modified design in 1988 due to safety concerns.

Built in 1897 for the purpose of Council Chambers and then became the headquarters for the York Volunteer Fire Brigade, this hidden gem now is home to Barclay Books!  A book lover's paradise that sells new, secondhand and rare books.  Online sales also available through their website.  If it's not in stock they will find it for you.
